Teddy Pendergrass R.I.P.

Posted on 27 January 2010

Sad to hear that Teddy Pendergrass passed this month after struggling with colon cancer.

Teddy was in fact paralysed after a traffic accident in the 80′s and founded the Teddy Pendergrass Alliance a charity to help those suffering from spinal related injuries.

His musical career began in the 70′s as part of Harold & the Blue Notes of which he departed to embark on a successful solo career that saw 5 Grammy nominations, with releases right up to 2007.

Songs from both his Blue Note days and solo career included; I Don’t Love You Anymore, If You Don’t Know Me By Now, Don’t Leave Me This Way, Close The Door.
